MICHAELA KATHERINE DOUGLAS-JONES
BORN : 14 JULY 2003
The birth of any first child is a very special moment in the lives of a married couple. And the arrival of Michaela was no different for us. In fact, her bubbly nature and incredible zest for life not only completed us as a couple, but I will be very honest when I say that today, while I write this, MickFluff Ball has taught us as much about family, friendships and life as we have taught her.
Michaela inherited my positive and almost naïve love of life and my perpetual desire to make people laugh and/or smile. The countless moments we have laughed ourselves silly and played pranks on each other can never be forgotten.
Michaela has always had the motto of ' WHATEVER IS WORTH DOING - IS WORTH DOING WELL...' - a real role model of perseverance and determination to succeed in the face of defeat. Having excelled in numerous activities, most notable in the field of ballet, what really impressed me during her years at school, was the fact that Jackie and I never felt the need to push her to study for exams. In fact, I remember having a conversation with Jackie about the complete lack of reliance on us to assist her at school. In the end, her marks ALWAYS spoke volumes and the future looks so exceptionally bright for our Michaela-bear.
Her high school years have been no different than any other teenagers - facing many excruciating challenges as she developed and grew into a young and very capable adult.
The one thing that melts our hearts is her undying commitment and love for her parents, but more importantly, her guidance and support for her twin siblings - born 33 months after her. Each one of them recognize her as their sister and BEST FRIEND.....as does she acknowledge the same of them.
Lastly, her faith and UNDYING love for the Lord is tangible and her smile brings comfort to so many as the spirit of our Lord remains her guide now and into the future.
Mother Teresas famous saying sums her up
YESTERDAY IS GONE
THE FUTURE HAS NOT YET COME
WE HAVE ONLY TODAY...
LET US BEGIN.
